Got this as my second pillow type mask to replace a resmed swift fx. I couldnt be more pleased. The Headgear is more stable and more comfortable. I am using the cradle cushion which i am extremely happy with. My nostrils are no longer sore from having the regular pillows and due to the overtightening that was necessary to keep the swift in place. Even then it still leaked quite a bit as I would toss and turn throughout the night. I think i will be staying with the Optilife.

After wearing a Resmed Swift FX for over a year, I saw this mask on this website and decided to try it as it seemed that the built-in chin strap would negate the need for a separate chin strap as the Swift FX does (in my case). After getting the mask, I tried it for a couple of weeks, and found it lacking in some areas. 1) Had I read the literature on the website about the OptiLife mask before getting it, I'd read that the mask's attached chin strap isn't designed to keep the mouth closed, but to act as tension for the pillows or cradle. The product literature states as much and also states that if one already uses a chin strap to keep one's mouth closed, that the practice should be continued with the OptiLife mask. 2) However, there is no mention in the literature regarding the OptiLife's chin strap's inability to remain in place if one has a beard &/or goatee. The chin strap slides all over my goatee, waking me several times during the night as my mask has slipped from under my nose. 3) Unlike the FX, there is no hose swivel where the hose connects to the mask. If one is an active sleeper, this causes the hose to get tangled about the head &/or neck while sleeping. As for the positives of the OptiLife mask, as I see them, there are: 1) The basic design of the mask is good. What is lacking is the ability of the wearer to modify the headgear enough to fit his face. I'm a big guy; 6'2" tall and 265 pounds and with facial hair. My mask seems to be designed for a person about 5'8" and 165 pounds and no facial hair. My headgear isn't pink so I'm assuming that it's not designed specifically for a lady. 2) I LOVE THE NASAL CUSHIONS!!!!! They're so much more comfortable than the nasal pillows of my FX and the OptiLife. It's so confusing when reading the accompanying literature of the various nasal pillow masks. Some say the pillows go on the outside of the nostrils, yet the info accompanying the OptiLife says their pillows (should you use them) go inside the nostrils. Anyway, I'm looking to modify my Optilife mask to work with the chin strap I use when wearing my FX. I'm not sure how it'll turn out, but because the nasal cushions are so much more comfortable than the nasal pillows, I'm willing to try most anything to keep using the OptiLife cushions.

Although this mask works for me, the chin strap is useless and keeps slipping off (my beard could be contributing to this). The wings on the side will dislodge the pillows sometimes when I'm on my side. I will be trying other masks to see if I can find something better.

Great mask! I like how there is a chin strap made into the mask!

Really love this Mask! Took a few nights to get comfortable with the design, but it fits great and doesn't move around. The chin strap can help, but as said before, it can slip off easily if you have a beard/goatee. I have gotten to the point that I don't really even need the chin strap though.

After trying five or six masks, I am very satisfied with this one. Others either leaked excessively, or would move out of position during the night. Also the pillow design is the only nose type that did not cause my nostrils to become painful. I usually sleep on one side or the other, however it is fine for laying on my back also. Ps also tried full face mask, which I found too hot and mouthpiece type which did not seal properly after I fell asleep.

For me, with my large, roundish face, this was a bad choice. This mask receives high marks as one of the few, if any, nasal pillows masks which can used with high pressure, 16 in my case. My machine usually doesn't go beyond 10-12 in practice because of weight loss. Never the less, it was totally unable to get to a leak free state when starting out, let alone stay that way through the night. The chin piece I found to be much too short. it would slip off my chin all night long. Build quality was high and it comes with a large choice of pillows, none of which would seal on me. I've been using the Resmed Swift FX for years. It has a few issues with the headgear, but seals much better, is lighter, doesn't leak much. All in all a much better choice for someone in my situaton.
