The Philips Respironics PR System One BiPAP AVAPS is a noninvasive home ventilator used for the most complex sleep breathing disorders. Philips Respironics used all the features of the System One Series machines in the BiPAP AVAPS; features like Humidity Control, Digital Auto-Trak Sensitivity, BiFlex pressure relief, and the SD data card for use with EncorePro or EncoreAnywhere software.

Philips-Respironics also listened to user feedback when designing the System One Heated Humidifier. A cleverly designed water chamber works with a built in Dry Box to virtually eliminate water getting into the machine during normal use. Even with a water chamber filled to the FULL line, the machine can be tilted and even turned upside down without leaking water back into the unit*. Furthermore, System One Humidity Control monitors room temperature, room humidity, and flow to determine what is required to maintain your selected humidity setting, even when environmental conditions change. Because of this, you can be assured that your therapy comfort will be maximized by virtually eliminating rain-out and condensation buildup in the tubing.

* PLEASE NOTE: ALWAYS drain your water chamber completely when transporting or moving your machine.

The BiPAP AVAPS operates at a quiet 30 dBA, is light weight at only 3 lbs., and is small enough for easy travel at 7”L x 5.5”W x 4”H. It offers S, ST, PC, and T modes. IPAPmin is from EPAP to IPAPmax, IPAPmax is from IPAPmin to 25 cmH2O. Target tidal volume is 200 to 1500 ml. Ramp is 0 to 45 minutes and Breath Rate is 0 to 30 BPM. The BiPAP AVAPS homecare ventilator is cleared for use with patients as young as seven years of age who weigh more than 40 pounds.

This machine is used for treatment of various sleep disorders such as neuromuscular, COPD, and obesity hypoventilation. If you are unsure if this machine will be a good choice for your therapy, please call one of our CPAP specialists and we will be happy to help you.

The best! My entire family has been amazed at how quiet this machine is. Absolutely NEVER lets water/condensation collect in the hose or mask, even in extreme heat or cold. Humidifier works very well and I never feel "dried out" even after 8-10 hours of continuous use. Extremely sensitive to your breathing in the S/T and/or AVAPS mode. At first I wondered if it was really working to maintain target tidal volume as advertised. But after waking suddenly from deep sleep to find that the machine was REALLY blowing (my resting IPAP is 10 and I awoke to find the machine had automatically increased to 18 during my REM sleep), I realized it really is doing amazing things. I got an excellent report from my latest sleep pulse oximetry test. I no longer have morning headaches, my energy levels are higher, and I'm no longer groggy during the day. I highly recommend this machine for all fellow ALS patients and anyone with neuromuscular disease.

I absolutely love this machine. It is SO QUIET, you do not even know it is on. My Doctor just upgraded me to this machine. Previously, I had the "Respironics-BIPAP-Plus-M-Series-with-Heated-Humidifier." My prior machine did not regulate the humidity very well and there were times I would awake due to too much moisture in my mask. Not this one. I would also awake in the morning with a "distended belly," that does not happen to me anymore.
