Had the whole bottom ( the metal plate) seperate from unit. Plastic nubbins broke off allowing the water to go everyware

I run the reservoir through the dish washer once a week to avoid slime build-up. Unfortunately, the plastic rivets securing the metal bottom plate break after a few months requiring replacement of the entire reservoir. If the plate was attached with metal rivets, there would be no problem, but apparently Respironics doesn't expect users to use a weekly dish washer, which, in my opinion, is a common-sense hygiene procedure.

I've been using my original tank for about 3 years now. Disinfect with solution of white vinegar and water. I only use distilled water in the unit which minimizes any slime buildup or deposition on the heated plate. Works great for me.

The revits in bottom plate were bad and chamber leaked. JUNK!!

I would give 3.5 stars. Zero problems with the chamber. If you follow the manufacturer's directions, you'll be fine. Do NOT run it through the dishwasher folks! The reviewers here who did this were asking for trouble! Hand wash with ordinary dish soap ONLY! My only complaint is that the lid is not well constructed. The part that locks it to the chamber is cheap. For me, the lid lock broke after 9 months.

I have had the humidifier for several years and rotate between three chambers washing them in the dishwasher. In the past six months, I have had two of them fail when the plastic rivets came off after washing in the dishwasher.

I have been using this reservoir for over 3 years now and replace it every six months and I have never had an issue. Does the job.

Had the bottom ( the metal plate) separate from unit. Plastic rivets broke off from the heat of the unit when it ran dry after 4-5 hrs of use on level 5 (I live in a very dry climate)Tank is too small, and flimsy-a poor design all around. I put rtv sealant around the replacement tank, that lasted a while until the tank itself cracked in the dishwasher.

Didn't last long. Rivets on the bottom that held the metal plate fell off rendering it useless.

Chamber is junk. The rivets on two units came loose or off in two months. You spend 25.00 every two months. Ridiculous design and crap quality.

I've had my humidifier for 2 1/2 years, stick it in the dishwasher weekly. Decided to wash it by hand and the rivets broke. Only one holding it in but that is of no help. I can't see changing it out every 6 months. But I will now have a back up on hand.
