The straps stretch out and become unusable after a few weeks. The mask then leaks and cannot be used.

Same problem as the others, only the straps don't even last "a few weeks". The headgear is stretched out within one to two weeks and has no elasticity at all, becomes totally unusable.

First time used CPAP machine and overtightened the harness out of frustration. Still didn't deal completely with leaks. Experience over time has taught me to adjust gently and try shifting the harness(rather than tightening) on your head for better results. When you lay down you may find that you can actually loosen the straps a bit. Torquing it down like a trucker securing his load on a 18 Wheeler is not the way to go. With a gentler approach, my second harness is doing much better. It still has plenty of spring in it after 4 months.

The small size headgear fits well for my small quattro CPAP mask. But unfortunatelly, the package brings a medium size headgear. This is very inconvenient for me because the air leaks when I use the medium size headgear. I need to order the small size separately every time I need a replacement.

Reviewers should reference the pressure they are running. I've had the same straps for three years. My prescription is 9 cm of water pressure which translates to about 1 to 2 lbf on my mask. With 4 connection points, that means avergae of less than 1/2 lbf per strap. Over-tightening the mask can defeat the inflatable seal in the mask and cause more leaks (according to sleep institute). Those who experience very short life for the straps may have higher pressure settings than those of us who get long usage. Or some may be overtightening the straps. My pudgy, 55-yr-old face doesn;t have very pronounced marks form the cpap and what shows when i get up is gone when i shower. When the mask lekas during the night I usually have to reposition it a little and the leak stops. When the strpas were new, I had to retighten after the first week, but don't recall much tightening since. In summary: Over-tighten may CAUSE leaks, if leaking during the night, reposition the mask, if commenting about the straps -mention your pressure setting for our reference.

Agree at $31 this headgear should last longer. That's the reason I was looking . I am having the same problem. I am at such high pressures that I have to make my mask fit tight. My headgear is all stretched out . I have to strap it almost around the back of my head . And it is still a little loose. Please let me know when you fix this problem. I'm not paying $31 for a piece of junk strap that won't last.

I'll add a 'me, too' on the shelf life of this headgear. At $31 a pop, it's a little hard to ignore.

Velcro pile wears out after a few day and straps will not stay in place causing mask to leak.

Same problem....a huge inconvenience...straps stretch out and mask leaks after just a few weeks...they need to fix this.

Same as the others..it stretched out that the Velcro over reaches and then fits too loosely.

I used my straps for over 3 years before I felt they needed replacement.

Velcro is cheap and doesn't last very long.

I order the small size headgear even though my mask is a size medium.
The straps stretch out after the first several nights even wearing the small headgear and then leaks throughout the night.
Also the Velcro is inferior and does not stay attached well.

I've been using the resmed Quattro FX going on 2 years now have never had the issues stated above.. Yes the straps will stretch out but only after 6months or so... Velcro has never "stopped" working and has always stayed fastened...
