This is excellent system. I have used one for over a year with no problems. I sleep very comfortably and I really sleep and wake up refreshed.

Humidifier not as effective as I'd like. My mouth winds up dry even on maximum. It can be a bit noisy for my partner. Hose could be shorter and needs to be insulated so moisture doesn't collect in it in cold weather.
The person who delivered the unit didn't explain its use very well. Actually, not at all.
I've had to modify the headgear and mask to be more effective and comfortable. WIP.

Dry mouth often happens when a person is breathing through the mouth instead of the nose. If that's the case (as came out of no where with me), a chin strap can be used to keep the mouth closed while asleep at night. The strap goes under the chin and up over the head and works best if the style is one where there are two straps in the head area to keep the strap from slipping as can happen with the style where there's a single strap on top of the head.

I'm sure that the air related therapy aspects of this machine are outstanding, but coming from the prior generation of Respironics Bi-Paps (heavy, large, with water easily entering electronics and destroying the works if machine tips) the noise level of this generation is very hard to get used to. With all the issues of the old cumbersome models, I loved the sleep I got; they were quieter than a whisper. I actually thought this one was broken, but I brought it to my sleep doctor who told me it was working and sounding fine. I couldn't believe it. Progress!

Very disappointed with the machine. 1. noisy, have to cover it with a towel to reduce noise level.Sounds like a washing machine 2. Beeps when turned on and off. can't eliminate it 3. Light is too bright when turned on, lights up the room. Had to cover light with a piece of cardboard. Wakes up my wife. 4. If turned off in the night and returned to turn on again, it is easy to turn dial and then machine wont turn on. I had other machines for 12 years with no problems.

I upgraded to this "advanced" ASV from an old Respironic CPAP and I'm really disappointed! My wife is too, because it is noisier, it beeps when I turn it off to go to the bathroom, it beeps when I turn it back on, it no longer auto-starts when I breathe into the mask, and it no longer displays my AHI so I can see how I'm doing. This is a big step backward, Respironics!

I have used this machine for over a year. It is absolutely quiet - I have to check to make sure it is on. My partner never hears anything unless I slip out of my dream wear mask. Adjusting to this combo was easy. I learned to sleep with my mouth closed and use the humidity level at 2. No dry irritation and we live in the Mojave Dessert. I have never had control of my complex central apnea until now. I am so happy with this unit I will never change.

I have one and like it except for one thing. Heated CPAP humidifiers like in this one burn the plastic containers and introduce poisonous and hazardous chemicals into the airway. You need to mfg a CPAP machine with an ultrasonic humidifier.

Compared to my older Bipap machine this one is quiet. My wife loves that. I have a new mask and it doesn't blow on her either. I love the auto on feature as I get up to go to the bathroom. I just put the hose back on and it starts. I've been on a Bipap seven years and this is my third machine. So it is also my best one as well. Next month I go in my motorhome, that will be the true test. Hopefully it will run on my inverter with a square wave of converted DC power.

WOW. I wish medicare and Blue Cross could read the the preview before they say you have to use this contraption for 5 years. I am in my third year and am ready to dig out the older one that was heavy, much less noisy. All the help I received was turn up the indicator to get more moisture and now nothing happens. While I was able to use it there was a GREAT difference in my pain level, but now it is returning, and I felt more rested in the AM. At least using the older model then my mouth was not painful and the moisture DID work in the heated unit. If you have a choice get some sort of insurance for warranty extension so they could replace it when this happens.
