The very thin aluminum bottom on this chamber corrodes quickly and easily; resulting in pinhole leaks. A stainless steel alternative would be so much more durable and cost effective.

I have been using the same humidifier chamber for 6-7 years for approx. 350 days/year and have not experienced any corrosion or leaks. Until I recently cracked the base of the air exit portal of the chamber, I have been very pleased with the performance of this item.

The aluminum bottom has some corrosion on it andit has started to leak. But just like the filters in your machine, this needs to be replaced periodically.

Recent purchases of this tank have been disturbing. I use only distilled water but the aluminum bottom discolors. I don't want to breath in the air that flows over the discoloration since I don't know what it is; so I always order 2 at a time. I have never had this problem before. The first time it happened was in March 2016 and I threw out the tank and replaced with a new one. Two days ago the replacement tank bottom was discolored. I have changed the filters on the unit, wash the tubing and face mask at least once a week and empty and rinse the tank daily. My earlier tanks seem to have had an aluminum bottom and never discolored this way.I only use distilled water in the tank.

Cheap and leaks, but it is the only model that works in the CPAP machine my insurance company provides. It is also impossible to thoroughly empty all the water and ensure that it is clean.

Cracked and leaked. Also with asthma you cannot clean it even when you try. Very poor quality. Wish I would have had a choice in machines. Fisher & Pakel is not what I would have chose.

Small white tabs inside the base are deteriorating and seem to be creating a strong offensive vinyl-like odor by morning. Am not experiencing this with my replacement chamber.
