I have wore this mask for 5 months and it's broken 5 times. Like the mask but it keeps breaking. Is other people having trouble with it breaking?

Dissapointing. After a couple of hours use, nose pillows slip up and out of nostrils; pressure leaks around the mouth. Tightening the straps more just hurts my head. Can't seem to find a solution.

I really like the mask as it was the most comfortable one that I have used. The area around my nose has a tendency to break out with the full masks, even though they are hypo-allergenic. This mask was the answer to my prayers--so I thought. After 2 weeks of bliss, the clip cradle cracked. Then it broke. masks tended t

This mask is OK but the clips keep breaking - ResMed needs to do a recall and replace everybody's broken masks, and they know it! Don't be silent if your mask has broken like so many others - complain to your DME and to ResMed.

I tried this mask because I was forced into a Full-Face mask, but was dissapointed. Mask breaks and tends to lose it's seal easily. The Hybrid performs so much better than this mask - and it's cheaper!

I started using mine 08/08. Haven't had any breakage (redesign?) but the nasal pillows do leak easily. I have never slept better since I started using CPAP. *Moderator's Note* - ResMed has announced a new and improved design to the Mirage Liberty mask. It is great to hear positive feedback about the new design.

Love the mask itself as it works for me much better than the nasal pillow only mask I had. I had the same problem as most though, the holder for the clip broke within 3 nights. I have rigged it though by just sliding the strap directly through the clip holder and have been fine for the last week. I'm going to try the hybrid next because it seems to have the same benefits as this mask without all the breakage.

I bought this mask about a year or more ago, and gave up on it right away. I couldn't get a good seal especially around the nose. The first benefit was that it led me to the nasal pillows which gave me great relief from the ubiquitous bridge of the nose syndrome. But then I had to start using a humidifier, most inconvenient. I then got a Quattro, less bridge of the nose problems, but poor seal and lots of air into the eyes. Since I travel a lot, I packed up several old masks with my lightweight cpap machine and settled on the Liberty. Still no good seal, but no more need for the humidifier. In a fit I began fiddling with the straps and ended up using a safety pin to tighten up the strap across the top of the head. Like magic, I got a good seal and it is now my number one mask for regular use. Manufacturer take note, the strap across the top of the head needs a velcro tightener!

I had a hard time in the beginning getting used to this mask but now I love it. I used the CPAP Forum and it gives a lot of good ideas. I went to a larger nasal pillow and loosly rubberbanded them together. now they don't fall out of my nose at night. I find I have more freedom of movement and leaking isn't a problem. I also wash my face with a clearasil pad prior to puttion my mask on to get rid of all face oils. Helpped dramattically.

The liberty is great when it isn't broken. I've had it 3 months and the elbow breaks where it connects to the mask. I find that if I tape the pillows to my noise with surgical tape I get almost no leaks at all and sleep most of the night.

First one of the clips broke, then the snap where the tube in front clicks in broke rendering the mask useless. They need to improve durability.

It’s too bad there are no dates on these reviews, so it’s hard to tell which design version reviewers are talking about. I’m writing this on Aug 28, 2013. I’ve been using this mask for over a year and a half. I really like the design in that it doesn’t bruise the bridge of my nose as other full face masks tend to do, nor is there a problem with air leaks aimed at the eyes. I can even where my glasses comfortably with this mask if the need arises. I’ve had very few problems with breakage. But I can see how the elbow assembly can break if one attaches or detaches it to the mask too roughly, or if one rolls over on it during the night. But that only happened once or twice to me in the beginning. The biggest issue I’ve had is that the nasal pillows will shift during the night and start to leak – sometimes very loudly. I resolved this problem by using Micropore tape, which is a gentle-to-the-skin paper tape made by 3M. I put a strip over the top of nasal pillows, overlapping where they meet my nose, and then another overlapping strip above that to hold the first strip in place. As a result, I’ve had no more shifting or leaking. No redness, irritation or residue on my skin from the tape either. I started using the tape to secure the nasal pillows nearly a year ago, and I’ve not slept this consistently well in years. The only other comfort recommendation I have is to be sure to replace the head straps at least once every 3 months, as they do stretch out and become useless and very uncomfortable.

Initially, I had a leak in my nose pillows because the pillow was too big. I have a large nose but evidently the nostril was a medium. After a month of trying to adjust for leaks in the nose pillows, I finally switched to medium and they work great. You should receive all three sizes in your initial kit. Try another size if you have trouble with leaks. It worked for me.

The elbow that hooks on to the mask needs to be redesigned, I have had two that broke.

Fantastic mask!! I've worn a full face mask for two years and expiremented with this hybrid. It took a little getting used to, but is more comfortable and less confining than the full face mask. It is also possible to wear glasses with this mask, but not a full face mask. I did have to replace one clip.

I love hate this mask. I have used it for 7 months and find I can finally sleep without medications with it. That took 4 months. I have a tingly feeling all over as my body likes the restoration of deep sleep caused by the full face mask. The thing is actually junk and has broken so many times it makes me grumpy.

I have been wearing this mask about 5 weeks now as a replacement for several (maybe 5) different mask types. I really like it but I to have some problem with the nasal pillow coming out of the same nostril, never out of the other nostril. I was stated with a small pillow - continual leaks. The large pillow has worked pretty well except for the ocassional dislodging and leaking. I wsh that a little be larger pillow were available with a shape that is less oval and more semi-circular. I also wonder about the possibility of the pillow protruding a bit further into the nostril. I think that if those changes were workable it would be very good for me. I have no trouble with leaks about the mouth and I have a full face beard - go figue.

Had it one week. Can't get a good seal despite adjusting the straps. Have used medication to sleep and found that the pillows come out of my nostrils and when my jaw drops the entire mask leaks as indicated on my machine in the morning. Am awaiting the arrival of my representative to bring me the Mirage Quattro which has much better reviews.

I like the mask alot, but like everyone else says, there is a design flaw. I keep breaking the L shaped clasp that holds the mask to the short hose. They are using some very weak plastic parts that don't hold up to sleep.

I am glad I am not the only one that has the problem of this mask continually breaking! I have been through so many I was starting to get embarassed. Not only do they break within one to two weeks of having it; the nose thingies pop out all night and you can't sleep because you are constantly pushing them back in. Nice to see I am not alone with these issues!

I have worn this mask for 4 months and had absolutely no problem with it. So much more comfortable than the full face masks and less irritating as well. I have and no breakage at all. This was my answer to my face breaking out even though my other mask was suppose t be hypo-allergenic. Love this mask.

Main problem is that it breaks continuously. I have replaced elbows because of broken clips four times. The pillows are hard to adjust so that they do not leak. Sorry, but I cannot in good faith recommend this mask due to its poor reliability and performance.

I tried three masks and I like this one very much. However, I was disappointed when the elbow joint broke and more disappointed when my supplier sold me a whole new mask instead of the one piece. The nasal pillows slide a bit, but I still think this mask is the best for mouth-breathers like me.

I can see it is to each his own. Tried this after a year with the Quatro and occassional leaks. This was an absolute nightmare for me. The nose cushions constrict and reduce nasal capacity to the point that I feel claustrobphobic. Sore nose, leaks and I'm almost incapable of getting the ledt clip attached. Choosing a mask is a real crap shoot!

The elbow piece keeps snapping and breaking where it connects to mask. Also the nasal pillows don't fit right into my nostrils (tried both medium and small) pillows slip out. Rubber mask piece leaks around the hard plastic where it slips in. Mask is poorly made cheap and gimpy. Save your money.

Went from quattro to this, love the freedom of being able to touch face, amhaving trouble w/ one sore nostril, have tried lube/ Vaseline etc. No breakages yet but agree clips come undone easily. Also the hard plastic piece is not padded enough and leaves deep grooves if u r aside sleeper. Overall a best soln so far tho,

I have worn this mask for over a year now and I like it,the only fault I have is I have a small nose and even the small is too big and is unconfortable.I wish they had extra small!!

Love the mask as it gives freedom of movement - I think the mistake some people make with the seal of the pillows is they try to seal it too tight! Loosen it up and it works. Problem is I too have been through 4 elbows and a faceplate through breakages. I think I've replaced the entire mask now except for the headstrap through breakages, but no other mask is as comfortable. It's a love hate relationship...

I like the mask, it is comfortable but I too have experience plastic parts breaking which is a pain. Twice the connection to the facemask has broken and it cannot be purchased separately, necessitating the order of a new mask. Now just to be fair this happens once a year, and many times they are recommending new masks every 3 months which I think is excessive if you are careful and cleaning it regularly. Still the weakest point is the juncture between the mask and tubing and it should be stronger.

Have had for three days now. Only mask I have tried that doesnt leak on me. I do have some soreness in my right nostril, but it goes away quickly. I have tried 6 different types of masks, this was the only one that works all night for me. The others all were loosing their seal as I wqs moving around. I only keep one clip unhooked, maybe that will save the upper clips from breaking.

This is the only mask I have tried so far, but the nose pillows make right inside my nostrils sore. I also find that the nose pillows fall out in the middle of the night. It was, however, a good starting mask, as I am claustrophobic, but now that I am used to wearing a mask, I am hoping that a full face mask will be less irritating to my nose, letting me sleep longer.

I LOVED this mask. BUT, once the pressure increases, the pillows come out. Very sad, as this is the smallest mask that will work w/someone that breaths in/out mouth and nose. But needs better pillows.

I love the mask. Best of all the many I have tried. Yes, pillows are a nuisance in slipping out. But bigger problem is the plastic elbow that keeps breaking!! Went through 4 in 6 months!

Nasal pillows keep leaking especially after CPAP has fully ramped up to pressure (16). Cannot keep nasal pillows intact with that much pressure. Otherwise, haven't had the breakage problem (so far) that others have experienced though I have only used it for two-three months (my first CPAP machine and usage).

The upper clips repeatedly break. AND they won't let me just by the replacement for the broken part. I have to buy the whole kit of headgear and oral and nasal cushions. What a waste! The company needs to make the clips more durable and allow replacement of only the broken parts!!

Plastic snap that received headgear clip snapped off in a week. Is that why they call it a snap?

In theory and initial use this mask was great. But the nose pillows leaked and the plastic snap broke after four nights. I emailed Resmed with my complaint and haven't heard from them. Its been eight months.

I absolutely LOVE this mask, but the cylinder that connects the hose to the mask has broken 3 times. What a pity. The first mask in 10 years that works for me and it keeps breaking. What a disappointment. Otherwise I would give this mask 10 stars.

Mask works really well and is easy to adjust. Have had the 90 degree bend/elbow jount break three times and the upper clip mounts on the faceplate break three times in six months really flimsy unrepairable plastic parts.

I'm extremely disappointed - fought with the mask for two hours trying to get it to fit properly but I still had leaks and pressure that forced my mouth open caused cheeks to be extremely tender. I have not been able to make it to sleep yet.

I've had two masks where the clip that the headgear snaps onto broke off. I've also went through two of the short tubes that connect to the mask, the clips broke off also. I noticed on my new tube that the clip now seems to be made a little thicker and it appears to be working better. My new problem now is that my nasal pillows keep coming out of my nose in the middle of the night. I have to keep pushing them back in.

I was waiting for this, but am dissapointed. Causes sore and dry nostrils even with lower pressure and high humidity setting. Does not secure mouth/chin - needs a chin strap. comes off too easily during sleep. Upper part of mouthpiece smashes upper lip. after mouth is blown open. Not a good fit for me.
