Charging a Battery Pack from a 12 volt outlet?

I just bought a new Respironics Battery Pack for my Remstar M CPAP machine, and used it on our boat last weekend. It worked great.  This winter we are planning to take a week of sailing and I will want to use the CPAP machine and battery pack for the trip. The boat has an engine that charges it's own bank of deep cycle batteries. I would like to recharge the Respironics Battery pack (which I believe is 12 volt), directly from the boat's cigarette lighter outlet (which is also 12 volt), into the cigarette outlet of the Respironics battery pack.  Do you see any problem with doing this? I would prefer to do it this way than to take a converter to conver the boats 12 volt power to 110 v, then plug the battery pack's convert it to the 110v converter (seems inefficient)

    Thanks
