    Excessive gas

I have had my cpap for 11 months and everynight I am terribly gassy. How can I correct this? It makes no difference if I am on my side or back.

Thank you for contacting CPAP SUPPLY USA.COM

Excessive gas can be a side effect of CPAP use.  You did not mention if you have had the problem with gas since you started wearing your CPAP.

One suggestion, would be to elevate your head when using your CPAP.  Make sure your CPAP is set on the correct pressure.  You may want to have your CPAP pressure checked by your local DME dealer or sleep lab.

Also, it is always a good idea to consider what you are eating or drinking.  Always avoid gas forming foods as well as carbonated drinks.

Another thought, if you have had significiant weight loss, perhaps you pressure is too high.  If this is this case, you should check with your sleep doctor for further evaluation.

I hope this information will help.
