The nasal cushions and the headgear are very comfortable BUT the wide foam/rubber strap on the rear of the headband brakes down and get's sticky. The gel pillow's on the sides fall out and wont stay in place.This is my second one and would like to keep using it if the problems could be worked out.

The fit was very good originally, but the foam picks up dirt and oil from my hair and begins to lose its elasticity. My provider also recommended washing with mild soapy water, but when I tried this it became so sticky that I could not use it. It was like masking tape! I think that $36 for this silly piece of foam is outrageous.

This product would be great if not for the foam strapping on the headgear which delaminates and breaks down within 3 months. Unfortunately my medical insurance will only pay for replacements every 6 months.

The previous reviews are correct for the original Nuance headgear. I had the same problem with the original make but Respironics has fixed the problem. The newer headgear is manufactured differently so the breakdown problem no longer occurs. The picture displays the original headgear with the brown foam that falls apart and becomes sticky. I just ordered this item and it is now the newer style that no longer breaks down.
