Some people just don't realize that its their sleep environment that's keeping them from getting a restful sleep.  These are excellent tips on preparing your sleep environment.  

If you're unsure of what kind of bedding, pillows, sheets etc are right for you, take a day and head to your local mattress store and start mattress hopping until you find the one that makes you say "Oh Ya, this is it!"

If you're not into buying a whole aromatherapy kit, you can try a couple drops of lavender sprinkled on your pillow.  

You may also want to try playing a sleep CD and concentrating hard on every note - which will rid your mind of other cumbersome thoughts and allow you to drift off to LaLa land.
