This mask is awesome. Been a happy Swift FX user since it's introduction a couple years ago. My Swift is now aging, wasn't looking for a something else but always curious about something new/better. The Fisher Paykel Pilairo came highly recommended so I thought I would give something new a try just to see what's out there. Upon receipt I hooked the Pilairo up and immediately noticed that it is a lot noisier than the Swift. I liked how comfortable it felt, it is at least as comfy as the FX, maybe even slightly better, but I simply couldn't overcome the noise level compared to the quiet FX. My wife even commented on the noise of the Pilairo immediately and didn't think she could handle listening to the Pilairo all night. It was also excessive for me and after only 10 minutes I had to shut things down and switched back to the FX. So, never even slept with it, not gonna work for me due to the high noise level. I also had concerns that the pillows, they don't seem like they will be very durable, the material that inflates is more like a thin latex glove matarial (slightly thicker than a glove but not much) and looks like it could tear easily. Anyway, back to the awesome Swift FX. Maybe some day someone will develop something better but for me the Swift FX is the best nasal pillows mask out there. Comfortable, light weight, very seldom leaks (and I sleep on my side and belly a fair amount) and it's super quiet... The Pilairo is on its way back, thank goodness I got the mask assurance this time.
